Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Labour Flex Private Limited (“Labour Flex”, “we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use our mobile application and website (collectively, the “Platform”).
Plain English: We built Labour Flex for transparent, direct hiring. Some of your profile and job details are visible to other users so they can contact you. Sensitive documents (ID/selfie) are private. We don’t run ads or trackers.
1) What we collect
A. Information you provide
- Account & Profile: name, mobile number, email, profile photo, company name (builders).
- Verification: selfie and government ID images submitted for verification (e.g., Aadhaar). These are not public.
- Jobs (builders): role, wages, work days, shift times, job description, location label and/or coordinates.
B. Information we collect automatically in the app
- Location (optional and contextual): if you allow it, we use location during workflow actions like “Arrived”, “Check-in”, “Check-out”.
- Device & app diagnostics: basic crash/error logs to keep the app running reliably.
C. Website
Our marketing website is intentionally minimal. No cookies or analytics trackers are used on the website.
2) What is public vs private
Public (visible to other registered users inside the app)
- Builder profiles & job posts: builder name, company, phone, email, profile photo, verification status, and job details including wages and location.
- Labourer info when interacting: when a labourer applies or is visible in listings, their name, phone, email (if provided), profile photo, and verification status.
- Verification status for both builders and labourers is public and read-only (users cannot alter it).
Semi-private (shared only between the job owner and the labourer on that job)
- Attendance workflow: Arrived / Check-in / Check-out records and related timestamps/coordinates.
- Applications/requests to a specific job.
Private (never public)
- Verification documents (ID, selfie, any manual review notes).
- Authentication information (OTP records). Passwords, if used, are stored securely (hashed).
3) How we use information
- To create and manage your account (including OTP login).
- To publish public job and profile information for discovery and contact.
- To operate the job workflow (Arrived / Check-in / Check-out) and keep relevant parties informed.
- To verify identities and show verification status for trust and safety.
- To send essential updates: job activity, account alerts, verification updates.
- To protect our users and our Platform from fraud or abuse.
4) Sharing of information
- With other users: we share the public items listed above so builders and labourers can contact each other directly. Phone numbers may be visible before a job is accepted to enable quick coordination.
- Service providers: we use third-party services to run the Platform (e.g., SMS/OTP provider for verification, email provider for support).
- Google services: we use Firebase (Firestore, Auth, Storage) for authentication, database, and file storage; and Google Maps APIs for location and directions. Use of these services is also subject to Google’s Privacy Policy.
- Legal & safety: we may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect people and property.
5) Data storage & security
- Data is stored using reputable cloud providers (including Google Firebase). We apply access controls and reasonable security measures.
- Verification images and sensitive documents are restricted from public access.
- No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; you use the Platform at your own risk.
6) Data retention
- We keep account, profile, and job information while your account is active or as needed to provide the service.
- We may retain certain records (e.g., verification logs, fraud prevention data, legal compliance) for a longer period where permitted by law.
- Backups may persist for a limited time after deletion.
7) Your choices & rights
- Access/Update: you can update your profile details in the app.
- Delete: you can request account deletion by emailing support; we’ll delete data that we’re not legally required to retain.
- Permissions: you can disable location permissions on your device; some features may stop working.
- Communication: you can opt out of non-essential notifications; essential account/job updates may still be sent.
8) Children
Labour Flex is intended for adults (18+). We do not knowingly allow minors to create accounts.
9) International transfers
Our service providers may process data in multiple locations. By using the Platform, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in those locations, subject to applicable law and this Policy.
10) Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified in the app or by email. Your continued use of the Platform after changes means you accept the updated Policy.
